Frequently Asked Questions
Product
Do I need YOOtheme Pro?
Yes. Planckie Elements adds elements to the YOOtheme Pro builder and has no interface of its own. YOOtheme Pro 5 or later is required; YOOtheme Pro 4 is not supported.
Does it work with my YOOtheme Pro style or child theme?
Yes. The elements use the theme's own UIkit build and the colors, fonts and spacing that come with your style, so they follow your design instead of imposing one.
Is it the same product on WordPress and Joomla?
Yes. One product, two installable packages, the same elements in both. Your license covers both platforms.
Can I buy a single element?
No. Planckie Elements is sold as one bundle, and every plan includes every element plus the elements added later while your subscription is active.
Can I hide the elements I don't use?
Yes. The Customizer panel at Settings → Planckie Elements has a switch per element. Switching one off removes it from the builder's element library without affecting pages that already use it.
Licensing
Does the plugin phone home or check my license?
No. Planckie Elements renders without contacting our servers, and it has no online verification step. Your key authorizes downloads and updates, nothing else.
What happens when my license expires?
Your site keeps working. Every installed element keeps rendering, and you keep the right to use the version you have. What stops is access to new versions, downloads and support, and you cannot assign new sites to your plan.
Can I use it on client sites?
Yes. Plans differ in how many sites can receive updates, not in what the elements do. Pick the plan that covers the number of sites you maintain.
Under which license is the code distributed?
The GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. Bundled third-party components keep their own licenses, with their notices stored next to the component.
Performance
Does it load CSS and JavaScript on every page?
No. Each element registers its assets while it renders, so a page requests only what it actually uses, and a page without Planckie elements loads nothing from the plugin.
Does it use jQuery?
No. The elements are built with vanilla JavaScript and UIkit, which YOOtheme Pro already loads.
Does it work with caching and minification plugins?
Yes. The assets are ordinary CSS and JavaScript files with a version derived from the file itself, so a cache picks up a changed file after an update instead of serving the old one. If an element misbehaves right after updating, clear the cache first — see Troubleshooting.
Content and accessibility
Are the elements accessible?
Accessibility is part of how each element is built, not an option you switch on: interactive elements are operable by keyboard, expose the states they change to screen readers, and respect the operating system's reduced-motion setting by dropping the animation instead of the functionality.
Can I translate what the elements display?
Yes. The builder interface and the strings elements render on the page share one translation catalog. English is the source language; German and Polish ship with the plugin.
Any text you type into a field is your content and is translated the way the rest of your page content is.
Can I restyle the elements with custom CSS?
Yes. Every element exposes flat, readable pe- class names that match the labels you see in the builder, and the settings you can configure come through CSS custom properties. Each element's documentation page lists the hooks it offers.
